Configure your own Hermes agent

You do not need a $5,000 Mac setup. Rent a small computer in the cloud, choose what powers your agent, and decide what it can see.

Start with the machine

Rent one. Do not buy a new computer.

We recommend Agent37. It gives you a fresh private workspace with Hermes already installed and keeps it online when your laptop is closed. Start with the smallest plan. You can make it bigger later.

Rent a machine on Agent37 Basic uses your own model key. Model use can cost extra.

Four choices, then you can start.

Nothing here is permanent. You can change the model, instructions, and chat app later.

  1. Choose the model

    Pick what the agent thinks with. Hermes works with OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, OpenRouter, and more.

  2. Set the soul

    Name it. Tell it its job, how to talk to you, and when it must ask before acting.

  3. Choose where to talk

    Use the terminal, or connect Telegram, Discord, Slack, WhatsApp, Signal, or email.

  4. Choose what it can see

    It starts without your accounts. Connect one inbox, calendar, folder, or tool at a time.

That is enough to start. Give it one real job and see how it does before adding more.
